Harm Reduction
TigerWell recognizes harm reduction as an essential component of a comprehensive, student-centered approach to health and well-being. Harm reduction is a set of practical, evidence-informed strategies aimed at reducing the negative consequences associated with alcohol and/or drug use, grounded in respect, compassion, and the dignity of all individuals.
Consistent with our settings-based and holistic model, harm reduction acknowledges that students make a range of choices about substance use. TigerWell promotes informed decision-making, risk awareness, and safer practices to support students’ physical, emotional, and social well-being.
By integrating harm reduction into our broader well-being promotion strategy, TigerWell aims to meet students where they are, reduce preventable harm, and support all students in thriving academically, socially, and personally.
